We care about kids, their health, and the strength of our community.
We hope to support and inspire a life-long love of running and exercise at a young age. Running is fun, inexpensive, and can be done just about anywhere—a perfect activity to get kids moving! And healthy kids make for healthy communities.
Thanks to the generosity of the Auburn Fire Department IAFF Local 797, the Triple Crown Race Series offers a FREE Kids’ Fun Run prior to the start of each 5K in the race series. The Kids’ Fun Run is just that—FUN! All children are eligible to participate—whether they run, walk, skip, or are strolled through the course.
The Kids’ Fun Run begins at 8:00 a.m. Children run a short distance, which varies slightly depending on the particular 5K race that follows. Participating children receive kid-friendly freebies and coupons to favorite local places. They are also each awarded a medal from our local heroes—Auburn firefighters! Arrive early on race day and locate the Kids’ Fun Run table to register your child for participation. Children may also register for the Kids’ Fun Runs at the Packet Pickup events.
We encourage kids of all ages to run The Triple Crown 5K races. Running is fun, great exercise, and a wonderful way to strengthen young bodies and minds. We believe in healthy kids and so does The Bridge Run Foundation. Through their generosity, all kids 14 and under run our 5K’s for FREE! We hope this inspires and enables families to run together—we love seeing entire families out on the course.
Kids are also included in our post-race Award Ceremony (awards begin with the “10 and Under” category). All participating minors must have the permission and signature of a parent or guardian.
